SPIRITS PORTRAITS
Capturing you, movement, and landscapes • Photography as a tool for connection, healing and beauty—the artists way • Embodying and expressing our personal journey.
Spirit Portraits will continue evolving with every new experience and person I create with.
At its core, it’s a vision of seeing more clearly—beyond just what’s in front of us.
It started with using the frame of the camera to see the world in a new way, then noticing people, then myself. Now, it’s about helping others see themselves.
At first, it was taking photos of my sister in the backyard, commanding that she wear her hair in a side pony, pop her hip and pout her lips. It was early mornings with my dad, chasing light and slow shutter speeds within the ocean. It was filming my friends on holiday, making tiny waves into extravaganza surf movies. It was capturing my pop in a community space he built, surrounded by all of his favourite things, on my dad’s old Nikon FM2.
Now, I see that Spirit Portraits is all about connection. It is a process of exploring and documenting our relationships—between us, the natural world, other people and the collective.
Photography isn’t just about what we see with our eyes. It’s about seeing with our senses and entire being. It’s a way to connect with both the visible and the unseen.

“We all begin as a bundle of bones lost somewhere in a desert, a dismantled skeleton that lies under the sand. It is our work to recover the parts. It is a painstaking process best done when the shadows are just right, for it takes much looking.“
— Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves
